Consider this an invitation for students to learn about and witness the role of the judicial system in our democracy by participating in the New Mexico Supreme Court’s sixth annual Rule of Law Program!

Students may attend in person or virtually watch as attorneys explain their positions on the legal issues in a case and Supreme Court justices question the attorneys to clarify matters. This is what is known as Oral Argument. Take a field trip to Portales and watch the oral argument live and in-person this year!

The New Mexico Supreme Court will hear Oral Agrument on Wednesday, April 1 in State v. Mendez, S-1-SC-40404, in the University Theatre Center at Eastern New Mexico University. Contact Tamara Mitchell at 505-827-4932 or suptdm@nmcourts.gov to attend.
