1. A CAID number is required for attorneys to use eFile & Serve (NOTE: this is different than a Bar number). To obtain or lookup your number, or, if you are an out-of-state attorney, contact the Supreme Court.
2. An individual from a law firm or sole practitioner can register for a Firm account in eFile & Serve by selecting the Register button on the New Mexico eFile & Serve home page.
3. You are ready to begin filing in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and District Courts.
4. Filing attorneys should be sure to add themselves as Service Contacts to the envelopes they submit. For more information about this, see the eFile & serve Firm Administrator Video further down on this page.

• More Information About e-Filing for Criminal Cases

The convenience fees for civil case electronic filing at District, Magistrate and the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Courts are as follows:

eFile & Serve: $12
File Only: $8
Serve Only: $0

There are no convenience fees charged for electronic filings into the Supreme Court or the Court of Appeals, or for subsequent filings into criminal cases at all other courts. Filers should use their eFile & Serve waiver account in those instances.

Proposed Documents are documents that need to be reviewed and signed by the judge, they are not filed through eFile & Serve. Proposed documents are submitted to the proposed text email address for the judge assigned to your case

District Court Proposed Text Document Email Addresses

Magistrate Courts require the motion and the proposed text to be separate filings within the same envelope, using the Proposed Order efiling code to be used for proposed text documents.

Metropolitan Court requires the motion to be filed and then accepted by the court before the attorney filer submits the proposed text to the Judge’s TCAA. The contact information can be found at https://metro.nmcourts.xyz.
